CanOraMax le Film
The story of the Saint Martin Canal as a thread, the dark and mysterious canal … one of the most original journey in Paris, which is now offered by Canauxrama.
“CanOraMax, the Movie”, a unique creation that you can discover by now during the “Vieux Paris’ cruise and "Atmosphere Atmosphere' "cruise on the Saint Martin Canal.
“CanOraMax, the Movie”, it is a new and historic Sound and Lights show which lasts 20 minutes or so, for 2 kilometres in the underground tunnel of the Saint Martin Canal build during the 19th century (between Bastille and the Faubourg du Temple street ). This Son and Lumiere show is a real high-tech time machine made by pictures, animated pictures, sound effects, movies and unseen archives.
“CanOraMax, the Movie” is also a night and outside extension during the 9pm cruise (“Atmosphere, Atmosphere” cruise) with special effects throughout the journey, alongside the Saint Martin Canal and the Bassin de la Villette. “CanOraMax, the Movie” will cover the locks and canal areas around with enchanting pictures during the two hours of this summer night cruise.
By sailing in the tunnel, the boat creates a moving show and so becomes a performance area of the Canal. The massive structure of the round roof, between 4.70 and 6.30 meters high, requires a precise and elaborate technical approach. In order to get the image sizes and quality which are required, CanOraMax, in the same vein as Imax or Omnimax, has been created in high definition with a panoramic size which is amplified by the use of special optics.
A narrator will be on the screen and will provide details about the historical facts. The projection point is located in the stern of the boat and will show giant pictures on the roof, so that everybody takes part in the movie and the Canal becomes the place of the audience’s show.
Located in the bow of the boat, another projection point enables the audience to see the show in classic conditions. The goal of this original program is to touch the audience and to understand the history of the Canal!
It is said that the Canal was built because of the need to supply Paris in water: Water to live, water to travel and water to trade, water as source of energy, source of life and source of different human activities.
The Canal reminds the audience of the memories and the memorable facts of the districts that have took place for two centuries. Stories mixed with an amazing production, districts and people of the Canal.
