Company news and history

Founded in 1983, Canauxrama was the first Parisian cruise operator to offer original cruises, first on the Ourcq canal, then gradually on the Saint Martin canal, the Marne (country of guinguettes) and the Seine.
During the 90s, its fleet of boats grew and grew, with the construction of new units that were ever more spacious and comfortable, suitable for all cruise formats and all types of clientele.
1995 was a turning point, with the arrival of the Alliance, soon completed by the Henri IV, both equipped with professional kitchens, to allow the organization of private events: weddings, birthdays, seminars, cocktails...,
At the same time, the success of cruises on the Canal St Martin has enabled the design and construction of a new boat perfectly suited for cruises on the Canal St Martin and private events: the Marcel Carné, completely renovated in 2018. Thus, since 1996, Arletty and Marcel Carné have crossed paths daily on the Canal Saint Martin, passing in front of the Hôtel du Nord...
Canauxrama experienced a strong development of its activity during the first decade of the new millennium, and in 2013 it will join another river entity based in Paris: the Compagnie des Vedettes du Pont Neuf. The newly formed division reinforces the naturally complementary offer of the two reference operators,
In 2016, and to continue this dynamic, Vedettes du Pont Neuf and Canauxrama joined the France Tourisme group, one of the leaders among Parisian incoming agencies, renowned excursionist. Major fleet modernization projects then began, to accommodate our passengers in greater comfort, while minimizing the environmental impact of our fleet: complete refit of the Marcel Carné, replacement of the engines of 3 units in our fleet, start of construction of the first 100% electric boat, brought up to new European standards...
Resolutely turned towards the future, Canauxrama, recognized specialist in unusual cruises and private cruises in Paris, is preparing with the Vedettes du Pont Neuf company and France Tourisme the electrification of its entire fleet with a view to the Olympic Games and Paris 2024 Paralympics, starting with the Rocca II, a historic launch dating from 1963, the first of our units to open a new chapter in the long history of the Ile-de-France river trips that we offer.

Global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions can only be curbed by the implementation of virtuous and ecological transport. The electrification of transport is a long-term solution to curb damage to the environment. This is why, in order to be in line with the new projects on the Seine and to meet the expectations of its customers as well as the ecological challenges of the years to come, we have launched a vast project to modernize the entire our fleet of cruise boats in the Seine. The first boat to benefit from this modernization is the Rocca II, a 1963 boat, which is completely renovated and which benefits from 100% electric propulsion.
In July 2024, Canauxrama experienced a defining moment in its history by taking part in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. Our electric boat, Rocca II, took part in this exceptional event on the Seine, in an operation where every detail was meticulously arranged, with particular vigilance required due to the high water level of the river. A team from TF1 was able to board to cover the event alongside Canauxrama's President, Ghislain de Richecour, and the boat's crew. It was a unique opportunity to showcase the company's enthusiasm and hospitality to the world.
